Underrest Lodge is located on Overgrove St. within the district of Ashgate Reach. It is historically significant as the first settlement established in the area by LACON and JackFox.

The Lodge is a small, sturdy excavation outpost; its historic subterranean architecture inspired the regional moniker ‘Cavey’.
It uses a palette of stone and wood, though it is more modest in scale compared to the later buildings in the area like The Six Reins.
The interior is designed primarily for rest and utility, providing essential shelter for travellers moving between the underground strip mining and cosy interiors above.
The holding sits within the rockface.
The Lodge anchors the start of Overgrove St., the principal working street of the district.
It is named Underrest Lodge as it features resting quarters upstairs for miners that work underground.
The Mezzanine Gallery & Brewing Nook
Ascending the primary staircase from the entrance leads to The Mezzanine Gallery, a walk-around interior balcony that overlooks the ground floor. While primarily serving as access to the resting quarters, the gallery was designed to be versatile.
Recently, the south-east corner of the mezzanine—situated by a small window—has been repurposed as The Brewing Nook. This provisional installation was set up for initial alchemical trials and apothecary research. It features:
- A sturdy stone desk.
- Two brewing stands set against the window.
- Dual cauldrons.
- A two-chest logistics system: one dedicated to raw alchemical ingredients, and the other for ready-to-use potions.
Because of its small footprint, The Brewing Nook operates as a temporary pop-up station. This ensures the actual structure and layout of the mezzanine remain unaltered and adaptable for future needs.
Facility Retrofitting (The Great Burn)
Following the events of The Great Burn on July 19, 2026, the unprecedented influx of salvaged timber necessitated a structural retrofit. Two of the Lodge’s rooms were converted into a dedicated wood storage facility. To automate the sorting and management of these provisions, copper golems were stationed within the facility, establishing it as a primary timber reserve for the district’s ongoing expansion.
