The East Channel Reclamation was a topographical project on March 8th, 2026 initiated by the Ashgate Reach Planning Committee, specifically LACON and JackFox.
Surveys confirmed that the existing settlement to the east of Ashgate Reach occupied a sub-optimal topography (inadequate land shape), effectively obstructing the natural watercourse and preventing efficient river transit in the area. By deconstructing the landmass, the regional tideway has been expanded, facilitating the future canalisation of the river for high-volume transport.

Terraforming and Material Extraction
The project required the excavation of a significant volume of dirt, stone, and gravel to deepen the basin and restore the lake’s natural perimeter.
In accordance with the Additive Rule, materials were not discarded.
High-value Mossy Cobblestone was successfully salvaged from the site. These materials are ready for spoliation (the reuse of ancient stone) in the construction of new bridges and infrastructure at Ashgate Reach and Eldersign.
Population Resettlement & Humanitarian Care
All displaced residents, including domestic animals, have been safely relocated to accommodations at Underrest Lodge and granted civic asylum at Ashgate Reach. This move is temporary; however, the transition was fraught with tension, as recorded in A Petition for Redress recovered from the site.
The residents are currently awaiting the completion of permanent houses within the upcoming fortifications of Ashgate Reach, where they will be integrated into the district’s growing workforce and social fabric.
