The Cascade Granary is a towering, four-storey agrarian facility located in the southern industrial region of Ashgate Reach, specifically within the area known as Sunder Side. Commissioned to address a regional provisionary crisis, it serves as a primary source of staple crops for the district.
It was designed and engineered by LACON and officially completed on August 15, 2026. The structure’s specific four-tier limit was surveyed and formally approved by JackFox. Notably, the active construction site was visited by DidsDevil during their first day on the realm.
The Provisionary Crisis
Following The Great Burn, the district experienced a temporary dietary imbalance. While the resulting apple surplus prevented immediate starvation, there was a critical lack of substantial, storable staple crops (such as wheat, carrots, and potatoes). The Cascade Granary was commissioned to directly alleviate this shortage, providing high-yield vertical farming to ensure long-term food security for the growing populace.
Architecture & Mechanics
The facility is primarily constructed from oak planks and logs, capped with a durable stone brick roof to protect against the elements. Each of the four levels is fitted with expansive windows, allowing maximum sunlight to reach the interior plantations.
The granary utilises a sophisticated, gravity-fed hydraulic harvesting system.
- The Plantation Tiers: The upper three levels each house a 7x7 plantation plot, while the foundational ground floor accommodates a slightly larger 8x7 plot.
- Piston-Driven Floodgates: At the summit of the tower, a central lever controls a network of piston-driven floodgates. When engaged, a deluge of water is released.
- The Sluice Network: The water flows sequentially down through each level, uprooting all mature crops. Subterranean dirt tunnels on each floor strategically channel the water and the harvested yield down to the subsequent tier, ultimately depositing all produce into a centralised collection basin at the bottom.
Planting remains a manual process, but the concentrated, four-tier vertical design allows it to be completed rapidly by local agricultural workers.

The inaugural harvest was officially documented to evaluate the facility’s output capacity. The initial cycle yielded:
